Platform Collapse

The convergence of social platforms into the same feature set (everyone has Stories, Reels, algorithmic feeds) combined with context collapse (mom, boss, ex, and followers all see the same content) and the loss of distinct digital spaces with their own norms. Result: everything becomes performance for an undefined, undifferentiated audience. People can’t be specific (someone will be offended), can’t be vulnerable (it’ll be weaponized), can’t assume shared context (it doesn’t exist). Communication becomes sanitized, generic, and safe — which is to say, meaningless. Tish’s frame: she’s been navigating this her whole life as an immigrant kid who was always code-switching between contexts. Platform collapse is everyone else finally catching up to the fragmentation she already lived. Her method is explicitly designed FOR platform collapse: hyper-specificity builds context instead of assuming it; shame disinfectant removes ammunition; invitation-with-consequences creates accountability within the indeterminate audience.
