Map as View, Not Product
Observation · geography · personal_truth · visibility: publishable
The map is not the product. The relationships are. The map is one interface — the view that makes spatial relationships visible. A triple store models ‘this place matters because of this pattern I noticed, which connects to this theme, which appears in these three pieces of media.’ That is not a GIS query. It is a knowledge query that happens to have spatial anchors. The atlas she wants to build is not tile rendering — it is curated spatial knowledge with narrative structure, closer to a 19th-century atlas (combining cartography with annotation, comparison, argument) than to Google Maps.
