Reason Before Name

Pattern · creative_process · personal_truth · visibility: publishable

The reason arrives fully formed before the name for it does. She knows a thing is true before she can say why, and refuses to wait for her vocabulary’s permission. Syntactically visible: ‘because [cause] I am balking’ — cause first, named state last. She does not rewrite, so the sentence preserves the order of the thought.
